Turn Your Success into Lasting Wealth

Financial planning turns complex finances into one organised effort to save time, save money and reduce stress

Financial planning brings investments, pensions, cash, tax and protection into one plan that moves with you.

Fintrel financial planning looks after your whole financial life, so investments, pensions, cash, tax, protection and estate planning all work together.

Our services blend planning and ongoing management. You set the goals. We design the approach. We’ll put it to work and keep it under review. The value isn’t in chasing hot ideas, but avoiding costly mistakes, using tax sensibly, keeping risk comfortable and turning money into the life you want.

Who Benefits from Financial Planning?

When you’ve got a full life and limited time, you want everything joined up without any chasing. If most of your money sits in a business and an exit is coming, we’ll help turn that into a personal plan you can rely on.

We also support families building for the long term. That might mean school fees, a move or thoughtful gifting that feels right. If you’re nearing retirement – or already there – we shape income that lasts, without nasty surprises.

When life shifts quickly, we keep things steady. Inheritance, relocation, divorce or a liquidity event can be a lot at once. You’ll be guided through the process with the paperwork handled and the decisions kept moving.

How Financial Planning Works for You

  1. You set the agenda. Your goals, constraints and risk preferences come first. We map your picture once so everyone works from the same page
  2. You see a practical, evidence-led financial plan with risk set to what you can live with. Every choice has a clear explanation of why this helps
  3. Paperwork comes off your plate. The portfolio is created to the agreed plan and you get regular, timely updates
  4. You have regular check-ins. Investment and pension plans are reviewed and re-balanced. The plan can adjust when life, markets or rules change

Start with a Complimentary Initial Consultation

We’ll talk through your current position and what matters most to you. We’ll highlight any areas where there may be opportunities for you, or issues to address. After the meeting, you’ll receive a clear summary of the discussion, with no obligation to proceed.

Assets stay with reputable custodians. Fees are explained before any work begins. If we’re a good fit, we’ll recommend either Additional Permitted Subscription (APS) or Preferred Portfolio Services (PPS), whichever is the best way forward.

Frequently Asked Questions – Financial Planning

What is financial planning?

Financial planning brings your investments, pensions, cash, tax and protection into one joined-up plan, so everything works together. The goal is to save time, reduce avoidable mistakes, keep more after tax and move toward what you want with less stress.

What goes into a financial plan?

Your aims, timeframes and risk profile sit at the centre, supported by cash-flow modelling and tax-aware actions across your accounts and investment. You’ll see what to do now, what to automate and what to review throughout the year, so progress is steady and visible.

How is financial planning different from investment management?

Investment management looks after the portfolio whereas financial planning sets the destination and the rules of the journey. It guides tax and cash-flow decisions, keeps risk comfortable and uses investments as one tool to deliver outcomes you can actually use.

How do I choose a financial planner near me?

Start with the basics. Check for FCA authorisation, transparent fees and reporting you’ll actually read. Then meet the person you’ll work with. Qualifications matter, but so does clear, calm communication and a service model that fits how you like to work.

Do you offer financial planning in Yorkshire?

Yes. We provide financial planning in Yorkshire and across the UK, with meetings in person or remotely. Many clients choose a hybrid model which means local catch-ups when useful and efficient digital updates the rest of the time.

What does financial planning cost?

Fees are agreed upfront and linked to the work delivered. Our fees are totally transparent so you’ll have surprises. APS from Fintrel has an ongoing fee 0.55% pa with a minimum of £825 per annum. PPS has an ongoing fee 0.75% pa with a minimum of £1500 per annum

We start with a complimentary planning consultation. If we’re a good fit, we’ll recommend APS or PPS based on your needs and explain the costs before you decide.
